Abruzzo

This region can offer sea, mountains, and historic villages, rivers and lakes are within reach of all lovers of nature and local traditions. As regards food, the most appreciated are “arrosticini”.

Basilicata

This region is located in the southern part of Italy. Here you can experience a place in which silence, colors, aromas and flavors lead you away from the hustle and stress of modern life, giving unique sensations. The provinces are Potenza and Matera.

Calabria

This region is one of the main holiday destinations for Italians, especially the city of Tropea. It offers mountainous landscapes and a long coastline of white beaches. The main city is Reggio Calabria.

Campania

This region is famous for the beautiful city of Naples, the capital. It is famous for the Amalfi coast, the islands of Capri, Ischia, Procida and Nisida. It is important to mention also Pompeii with the archeological site.

Emilia-Romagna

This region can be considered suitable for gourmets, which is recommended to combine a traditional gastronomic tour with a historical-artistic itinerary. The most famous plate are Lasagna, Ragù alla Bolognese and Tortellini.

Friuli-Venezia Giulia

This region is famous for the grappa and beautiful landscapes. Thanks to its mountains, this region offers countless opportunities for fun for snow lovers and skiers of all levels. The most famous city is Trieste.

Lazio

Rome is the capital of this region and especially the capital of Italy. It is the city of the Papal State. Around the region, you can admire two splendid villas considered by UNESCO as a "World Heritage Site", Villa d'Este, and Villa Gregoriana.

Liguria

This region is one of the smallest regions in Italy. The capital is Genoa, the birthplace of Christopher Columbus, who owes the great merit of having discovered America. Genoa is famous for the "pesto" and "focaccia".

Lombardia

This region is famous for its lakes: Maggiore Lake, Como Lake, Garda Lake and Iseo Lake which includes the so-called "Franciacorta" area, famous for its delicious wines. Milan is the main city and it is called "city of the Madonnina".

Marche

The region is in the central Italy, located between the mountains of the Apennines and the coasts of the Adriatic. In summer the most popular destinations by Italians are the beaches around the cities of Pesaro and Ancona.

Molise

Located in central-southern Italy, this region lies between the Apennine ridge and the Adriatic Sea. Nature, history, art, ancient traditions and gastronomy are the treasures of this still little known land. The capital is Campobasso.

Piemonte

It is placed in the North of Italy and it shares a border to the west with France and to the north with Switzerland. This region is famous for its marvelous alpine scenery. The main city is Turin.

Puglia

This region is placed in the heel of the peninsula's boot and it is full of long coastline in which you can find beautiful beaches. Concerning food, you have to try “panzerotto”, “focaccia” and “pasticciotto”.

Sardegna

This region is the second Italian island and it is also the third largest region in Italy. It is also very popular with international tourism. The capital is Cagliari.

Sicilia

This region is the largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. In the past, it was populated by multiple civilizations like Greeks, Romans, Spanish domination and Normans. The capital is Palermo.

Toscana

Florence alone would be enough to proclaim this region halfway among the most loved by tourists. Other cities are equally worthy of a visit, like Siena or Pisa. The Maremma Regional Park is the most famous and beautiful natural park.

Trentino - Alto Adige

It is a region of north-eastern Italy, made up of two Autonomous Provinces: South Tyrol in the north, corresponding to the province of Bolzano, and Trentino in the south, corresponding to the province of Trento. In this region there are the Dolomites.

Umbria

This region is famous for its uncontaminated landscapes, immersed in the green of the sinuous valleys, and ancient villages. It is the region there are still remains of Etruscan settlements. A famous city is Assisi.

Valle d'Aosta

It is the smallest region of Italy and is entirely mountainous. Here there are the highest mountains in Europe, including Mont Blanc and Monte Rosa. The main city is Aosta.

Veneto

It is one of the most beautiful regions of northern Italy. It is placed between the Dolomites, the Carnic Alps and the blue of the Adriatic Sea. The capital is Venice, which is made up of 118 islands connected by numerous bridges.
