Gospel st. John 3

There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:

Był wśród faryzeuszów pewien człowiek, imieniem Nikodem, dostojnik żydowski.

The same came to Jesus by night, and said to him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

Ten przyszedł do Niego nocą i powiedział Mu: Rabbi, wiemy, że od Boga przyszedłeś jako nauczyciel. Nikt bowiem nie mógłby czynić takich znaków, jakie Ty czynisz, gdyby Bóg nie był z Nim.

Jesus answered and said to him, Verily, verily, I say to thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

W odpowiedzi rzekł do niego Jezus: Zaprawdę, zaprawdę, powiadam ci, jeśli się ktoś nie narodzi powtórnie, nie może ujrzeć królestwo Bożego.

Nicodemus saith to him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

Nikodem powiedział do Niego: Jakżeż może się człowiek narodzić będąc starcem? Czyż może powtórnie wejść do łona swej matki i narodzić się?

Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say to thee, Except a man be born of water, and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Jezus odpowiedział: Zaprawdę, zaprawdę, powiadam ci, jeśli się ktoś nie narodzi z wody i z Ducha, nie może wejść do królestwa Bożego.

That which is born of the flesh, is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit, is spirit.

To, co się z ciała narodziło, jest ciałem, a to, co się z Ducha narodziło, jest duchem.

Marvel not that I said to thee, Ye must be born again.

Nie dziw się, że powiedziałem ci: Trzeba wam się powtórnie narodzić.

The wind bloweth where it will, and thou hearest the sound of it, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

Wiatr wieje tam, gdzie chce, i szum jego słyszysz, lecz nie wiesz, skąd przychodzi i dokąd podąża. Tak jest z każdym, który narodził się z Ducha.

Nicodemus answered and said to him, How can these things be?

W odpowiedzi rzekł do Niego Nikodem: Jakżeż to się może stać?

Jesus answered and said to him, Art thou a teacher of Israel, and knowest not these things?

Odpowiadając na to rzekł mu Jezus: Ty jesteś nauczycielem Izraela, a tego nie wiesz?

Verily, verily, I say to thee, We speak what we know, and testify what we have seen; and ye receive not our testimony.

Zaprawdę, zaprawdę, powiadam ci, że to mówimy, co wiemy, i o tym świadczymy, cośmy widzieli, a świadectwa naszego nie przyjmujecie.

If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how will ye believe if I tell you heavenly things?

Jeżeli wam mówię o tym, co jest ziemskie, a nie wierzycie, to jakżeż uwierzycie temu, co wam powiem o sprawach niebieskich?

And no man hath ascended to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, [even] the Son of man who is in heaven.

I nikt nie wstąpił do nieba, oprócz Tego, który z nieba zstąpił - Syna Człowieczego.

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

A jak Mojżesz wywyższył węża na pustyni, tak potrzeba, by wywyższono Syna Człowieczego,

That whoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

aby każdy, kto w Niego wierzy, miał życie wieczne.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only-begotten Son, that whoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Tak bowiem Bóg umiłował świat, że Syna swego Jednorodzonego dał, aby każdy, kto w Niego wierzy, nie zginął, ale miał życie wieczne.

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him may be saved.

Albowiem Bóg nie posłał swego Syna na świat po to, aby świat potępił, ale po to, by świat został przez Niego zbawiony.

He that believeth on him, is not condemned: but he that believeth not, is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only-begotten Son of God.

Kto wierzy w Niego, nie podlega potępieniu; a kto nie wierzy, już został potępiony, bo nie uwierzył w imię Jednorodzonego Syna Bożego.

And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men have loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

A sąd polega na tym, że światło przyszło na świat, lecz ludzie bardziej umiłowali ciemność aniżeli światło: bo złe były ich uczynki.

For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

Każdy bowiem, kto się dopuszcza nieprawości, nienawidzi światła i nie zbliża się do światła, aby nie potępiono jego uczynków.

But he that doeth truth, cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Kto spełnia wymagania prawdy, zbliża się do światła, aby się okazało, że jego uczynki są dokonane w Bogu.

After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized.

Potem Jezus i uczniowie Jego udali się do ziemi judzkiej. Tam z nimi przebywał i udzielał chrztu.

And John also was baptizing in Enon, near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized.

Także i Jan był w Ainon, w pobliżu Salim, udzielając chrztu, ponieważ było tam wiele wody. I przychodzili /tam/ ludzie i przyjmowali chrzest.

For John was not yet cast into prison.

Nie wtrącono bowiem jeszcze Jana do więzienia.

Then there arose a question between [some] of John's disciples and the Jews, about purifying.

A powstał spór między uczniami Jana a /pewnym/ Żydem w sprawie oczyszczenia.

And they came to John, and said to him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou didst bear testimony, behold, the same baptizeth, and all [men] come to him.

Przyszli więc do Jana i powiedzieli do niego: Nauczycielu, oto Ten, który był z tobą po drugiej stronie Jordanu i o którym ty wydałeś świadectwo, teraz udziela chrztu i wszyscy idą do Niego.

John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.

Na to Jan odrzekł: Człowiek nie może otrzymać niczego, co by mu nie było dane z nieba.

Ye yourselves bear me testimony, that I said I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him.

Wy sami jesteście mi świadkami, że powiedziałem: Ja nie jestem Mesjaszem, ale zostałem przed Nim posłany.

He that hath the bride, is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, who standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly, because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.

Ten, kto ma oblubienicę, jest oblubieńcem; a przyjaciel oblubieńca, który stoi i słucha go, doznaje najwyższej radości na głos oblubieńca. Ta zaś moja radość doszła do szczytu.

He must increase, but I [must] decrease.

Potrzeba, by On wzrastał, a ja się umniejszał.

He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.

Kto przychodzi z wysoka, panuje nad wszystkimi, a kto z ziemi pochodzi, należy do ziemi i po ziemsku przemawia. Kto z nieba pochodzi, Ten jest ponad wszystkim.

And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony.

Świadczy On o tym, co widział i słyszał, a świadectwa Jego nikt nie przyjmuje.

He that hath received his testimony, hath set to his seal that God is true.

Kto przyjął Jego świadectwo, wyraźnie potwierdził, że Bóg jest prawdomówny.

For he whom God hath sent, speaketh the words of God: for [to him] God giveth not the Spirit by measure.

Ten bowiem, kogo Bóg posłał, mówi słowa Boże: a z niezmierzonej obfitości udziela /mu/ Ducha.

The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.

Ojciec miłuje Syna i wszystko oddał w Jego ręce.

He that believeth on the Son, hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son, shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Kto wierzy w Syna, ma życie wieczne; kto zaś nie wierzy Synowi, nie ujrzy życia, lecz grozi mu gniew Boży.
